“I can confirm GTA VI is exempt,” a spokesperson for the the publishers involved in the dispute—which includes Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two—told Kotaku in an email. That’s backed up by a search result in a SAG-AFTRA database of struck projects which shows members are still allowed to work on the upcoming open world shooter during the strike. According to the spokesperson, Audrey Cooling, any game already in development before September 2023 is also exempt.

Kind of sucks for the ones on strike though, having the threat of GTA VI being delayed would give them a bit of an edge in negotiations.

It’s still gta 5 online, just because you can get it separate doesn’t mean it’s a separate game, you still need to download gta 5

GTA 6 is a new game, updated engine, updated everything for the next gen. GTA 5 is a 360 game

They’ll funnel everything over to gta 6 eventually which will have a different online experience

100$ a year for 5 years like I get you but I think many right now waiting on upgrades like pro vs just broke or just aren't focused on gaming

I have a launch PS4 and even I feel like they need to stop catering to that gen and just focus on PS5/Series X at this point
