kinda conflicting ideas within the fandom tbh. development is said to have started in 2014 and dan/lazlow didn't leave until 2020 so thats a big chunk of the game. Michael Unsworth who also a lead writer left in 2023 so thats another few years

but the doubt is being cast from an interview Dan did in 2018 where he said 'its unclear what gta 6 would even be at this point' so people are like wait what. maybe he barely even touched it

but imo that just seems like a random smoke screen because clearly they must've had some idea in 2018.
we'll have to wait and see if there loss is felt tho. the random NPC convos in the leaks seemed like classic rockstar, but its hard to tell if that is the case.

the only heavy hitter still there is Rupert Humphries who wrote with dan and michael on gta 4, gta 5, rdr 1 and 2, max payne 3. so thats at least one guy with sauce who was there for the entire dev cycle
