Already confirmed this was decided long before these firings.

This delay was not due to the firings last Thursday. While the fallout from those firings could certainly have a long-term impact on the project and lead to more missed deadlines in the future — due to those vacant roles, protracted legal battles, morale loss, etc. — the game did not slip 6 months because 34 people were fired a week ago. It was announced today because Take-Two reported earnings today.

Dude it's totally f***in possible that that is why this delay happened. 40 people is a lot regardless of the size of the company and depending on their roles, which some were supposedly important from veterans who've been at that company for years, yea that's very possible. What's hard to believe about that. Regardless a delay was probably inevitable but who knows
