I hope so man... But I've a feeling that this ain't happening before sometime during June 2026 or August 2026 :/
My guess is around mid May around the take two quarterly earnings meeting so they have something to brag about to Investors
First island of gta 4 is the best gta ever gets at any point
This section was inmersive, I'll give you that.
IV mission design is incredibly repetitive. I'm convinced some of the love is pure nostalgia. Go back and replay that s*** and tell me it holds up

Too many trailing missions and the checkpoints are god awful in 4

Lol same mission design as every rockstar game

maybe idk, but it was the most environmentally immersive GTA even more so than 5. Mad missions with interiors and really captured that late 2000’s aesthetic

My opinion is based off me having 100% it like 2 months ago
Yes the missions are repetitive but it just feels good to play in a way that has aged better than the earlier ones
Finally, somebody who sees the greatness of V
im convinced a lot of the people hating on V are just doing so because of gta online and how rockstar has put too much attention on that

It's immersive, I'll say that. I know for the first playthrough, I compulsively went through the game because I really wanted to see where the story went.

Nah Fr, I really enjoyed V. It's not the best in terms of story but the gameplay kept me coming back
Someone said this before but IV felt like Rockstar experimenting with a brand new engine. Which is why it felt scaled back in comparison to SA with customization

In retrospect it makes sense that they wouldn't overload it

the story is still great though. too me it's such a good satire of American culture, and the writing had me laughing a lot (i still remember the whole "you're a hipster" exchange between trevor and michael

IV to me felt more like an accurate satire of a post 9/11 American culture
V felt like a commentary specifically on Southern California culture in the early 2010’s

i was literally about to update my post and change it from American to Californian culture

Yeah the hipster exchange was great
There are parts of the story in IV that I'd take over what we get in V and vice versa but they have their strengths.

yea it resonated with me being from So.Cal.
like it captured exactly how LA felt in 2010-2013 with gentrification smart phones and social media.

yea to me it was like a great look at how vapid and empty the celebrity, gangbanger, and hillbilly lifestyles are in cali (but that's just me of course)

The story felt to shallow and surface level even compared to San Andreas. There was little to no emotional depth in that game. Trevor had the most range personality wise surprisingly, and the story really had no purpose after Madrino is paid off.
The Michale/whole government involvement was all over the place and pointless and I wouldve liked to see Franklin with a more immserive gangbanger story because its almost like he was never apart of the s*** for real outside of affiliation

imma be honest here, ive never actually played the entire story for SA. every time i booted that game up, i would play the first 4-5 missions and then just start using the cheats and start rampaging thru the streets
idk, i don't think the Michael/government thing was pointless at all. i think it's a representation of how the government isn't look at your best interest at all and will continuously try and f*** you over despite doing all these favors for them. it's a continuation of the theme that was presented in red dead 1.
i think that Franklin gangbanging storyline went as far enough as it could cuz realistically any more of those missions would have just been Lamar getting Franklin into a dumbass situation and then Franklin would have to save his dumbass once again
GTA 5 side missions hilarious. One trevor side mission is you join some russian who cant speak english + a republican round up random mexicans and try to deport them. They are all legal citizens too lol

SA story is crazy because it really feels like CJ is going on a nomadic adventure and riding up the ladder.
I see what you mean with Michael, especially with the gov thing being more of a favor or whatever.
With Franklin story, it would’ve been cool to see more characters within the Families? Other than Lamar. Lamar and Franklin claimed they was making their own set but who wouldve been apart of that set other than them two? They couldve added just a tad bit more depth into that world.
I have alot of issues with that game but ive probably beaten story mode atleast 20 times

I do love the way those early missions feel. It’s tutorial stuff but the small time introductory, getting used to liberty city stuff feels so immersive to go through. Waiting for Roman outside of a gambling den, getting the train somewhere to throw bricks through the window and then going back home, chasing someone and pushing them off a roof. Feels so good to build up the story and gameplay with all that stuff
One reason the GTA V map feels so small is because you basically have access to 80% of it from the jump. Within the first few hours, you’ve seen most of what you’ll be seeing for the entire game. The sectioned off islands from the other games helps the map feel more sprawling and thematically makes the rags to riches stuff feel more cohesive. When you’re going through those first island GTAIV missions, you see the skyscrapers and prototypical NYC type metropolis skyline across the bridge but know you won’t be going there for a while.
Really hope 6 reverts to that type of structure. Would be great if the first chunk is all in that swampy rural type area, and you just see the glow and skyline of the more busy Vice City area on the horizon as the story starts to open up
