It's not even milk GTA V though I think that's what you are not understanding and talking out of your ass. If they had made GTA VI on PS4 Xbox One how different would it truly be? They focus on making a new GTA each time they make a new engine. Back on PS2 Xbox that used to see some more advancements between GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas because gamers expected less, development was cheaper and different engines between 2001 and 2005.
Also different teams but some of y'all writing and panicking " Rockstar has milked development it will be 20 years til the next" Need to chill on the hot takes. Rockstar became much more throughout the years like yes they had manhunt, bully, GTA and eventually max payne 3 but allow them to learn from every game they create rather than get gassed out on GTA

I am genuinely asking you why should have rushed after GTA V to create a new GTA if the gameplay does actually still hold up 10 years later in terms of online base. Singleplayer they put a lot of work in with mocap and all voice work

the true "milking" is near yearly assassins creeds, remasters, remakes, call of duty, far cry. Without actual substantial changes.

Like if GTA VI requires so much time and effort what’s GTA VII gonna take? And when will that start development? Would devs rather work on DLCs and Online for VI or focus on VII for probably 7-8 years? And would Take Two put another heap of money into VII? Would it match the gargantuan hype of VI? I’m not sure

I mean, there’s gonna be character customization. Hair, clothing and possibly even make up.

Also weren’t there rumors of San Andreas RPG mechanics coming back (V had them, but they didn’t affect appearance).

RDR2 brought them back since Arthur could gain and lose weight, so they’re probably back for this as well.
