You can say Trap is the subject matter but then what the f*** do you call a rap song with excessive synths and hi hats? That’s what most people mean when they say Trap and I don’t have a problem with that. If you want to be specific about the subject matter you can say it’s Trapping music or something, or just that it has Trap lyrics.
