Is Hollow Knight a roguelike or a soulslike? If it’s a roguelike then that’s the best one yet.

Its a metroidvania, one of my fav games of all time also. Still have yet to beat that last pantheon with all the bosses tho

Ah, forgot about that term, but i feel like metroidvania, soulslikes and roguelikes are kinda all somewhat similar. It’s one of my favorite games of all time too, it’s just so f***ing good. Literally everything about it is fire, music, gameplay, visuals and story. The final pantheon is f***ing crazy the final boss of that pantheon is a real b**** but you get its pattern down eventually

Game was an entirely different experience, waiting on Hollow Knight Silksong to come out, cant wait to see what they do with that

For real, can’t wait for silksong. The gameplay looks even crazier in this one. Art design looks better too from what i’ve seen. Day one

yeah the maps of the souls games are very metroidvania-esque

Also souls like and rogue likes often both involve grueling challenges that you have to repeat over and over because of losing some progress upon death, so they probably have a lot of overlapping fan bases
