With all due respect to the greatest artist of our generation,

It’s been clear for some time now that Cudi’s perceived hype has been blown way out of proportion. Dude has had one of the most loyal and sincere fanbases I can think of for more than a decade.

He got hyped up a little too hard by the general public/media once it was cool and acceptable to openly talk about mental health though, along with enough years of new rappers singling him out as their main inspiration…so everyone wanted to act like they were obviously already aware of his GOATness (when they really weren’t, and many don’t even f*** with his music like that.)

And that would be OK…if it didn’t end up how it just did with RL. I don’t want to say Cudi needs to humble himself or anything — he truly deserves all the shine plus more. But I feel like we all had to see something like this coming eventually. Even If Ye didn’t bail, Cudi had absolutely no business HEADLINING ROLLING LOUD. And again, that’s not to say he’s not good enough to or anything…but anyone with a brain knows that is far from his crowd.

Sorry for the rant, I don’t really even have a full conclusion. But wanted to let that out at least. Cudi didn’t deserve any of that pathetic s*** show and I still can’t even watch the vids. He deserves so much better, and maybe if people could be a tiny bit more realistic it could have been avoided.

It is odd that they thought he was a suitable replacement for Kanye.

I mean he headlined before without having a solo album since 2016

Kanye pulling out was a huge factor and the irony that they’re beefing just added fuel to the fire so in that aspect yeah it was inevitable. It would of been business as usual like every other festival he’s been on if there wasn’t a last minute change.

The fact that the rolling loud Twitter was tweeting out pics of ye before they acknowledged the incident is very telling of this entire situation. Pathetic half assed apology too on their behalf lol goes to show they planned for something like this to happen considering the beef

True, I hope I wasn’t too harsh with the post. But I do feel like 2016 was def a different time. 6 more years for the youngins to hop on a bandwagon and think of Cudi as an old head

It’s honestly crazy to me how people could even disrespect Cudi and I feel like most of the hate comes from bruh trying to fit in when he was already the wave lol bruh was really out here wearing dresses and s*** to get attention like bruh you are The GOAT I don’t know why you be doing corny s***

Everything he does is for zoomer attention. Most of his old fans see through it and the young crowd does too. It's not that he's a bad guy people just see thru the marketing

ya pretty underground artist in the Cleveland scene rn you should check them out

  • I agree with Chip but also get what you were saying. I feel like the Kanye thing was the biggest reason what went down. If CuDi was announced as the headliner in the first place I don't think this happens. There would be more people there wanting to see him not a bunch of pissed off Kanye stans that paid good money to see Kanye

@op yeah I get your point that it might could've been avoided. The real problem is something different, though: it's the irony and arrogance of the people who s*** on others lives just like that. Show others some respect and don't be part of that s***hole society we live in

  • Jul 25, 2022

I feel like if drake was in CFG from the get go, and not who came out instead of who ppl thought was going to be Frank, he wouldn't have gotten booed

And I feel like if cudi was the headline from the get go rather than a replacement, he wouldn't have had s*** thrown on him

And playing more music to suit a RL crowd and maybe a guest appearance could've quelled some hate.

I do kinda doubt there were much ppl hating on cudi besides a very small (yet importantly - inevitable ) handful . Could b wrong tho

  • Jul 25, 2022

What makes everything so cringe imo is cudi as the headline would have been the final performer, right?

So instead of just leaving, ppl genuinely went outta their way to do that s***. So f***ed up smh. Not surprising, but f***ed up nonetheless

Like they can't even use the excuse that they were stuck in the crowd waiting for the next act. I get it. Sometimes festivals f*** up their scheduling and put two artists with very different fan bases next to eachother on a schedule. But cudi was the headline smh

Sadly I feel like it's just to be expected and is something artists, managers and promoters have to consider nowadays

Irdk what it'd take to change things around. I.e. I doubt astroworld has changed behaviours in the slightest

the mental health thing def put cudi into the camp of "good PR" for any festival/company

Kinda confused on the point you’re making. He headlined in 2019 with only having PPDS, KSG and TLOP feature(s) oh speeding bullet 4 years prior which was the LOWEST point of his career

    2019-2022 he had MOTM3 , Donda feature(s)

Of course the Ye beef threw a wrench on how this site/social media sees him but as we seen plenty of times before he’s not gonna kiss Ye’s ass

Damn near everyone is on this site using this moment as a “told you so” for people not liking his music lately (when they really didn’t in the first place unless he was on a Ye song) and placing their frustration with Ye bailing on someone else

Me and you seen the up and downs of his career and this circumstance has never happened if it was inevitable it would of happened way sooner

If all it took was Ye’s blessing for him to not get treated like s*** from the jump then so be it, he wasn’t in the wrong here at all and just showed up to work unlike Kanye

I love them both but this is just a moment where someone we like getting caught up in hurricane Ye

Whole lotta f*** s*** but cudi been getting bad press recently. MOTM3 kinda being subpar, his merch prices, and his demeanor on social media with his fans. I feel like the opposite of that love he was getting in 2016/18 is happening now

  • Jul 27, 2022

Some of y’all are saying this happened cause of how he’s been acting lately & yeah he’s for sure had some f*** s*** moments ain’t even defending him but it all boils down to weirdo Ye Stan’s being upset Lmao

Yeah it's like the worst s*** can happen in our world, we're all shocked for like 2 days and then we go on like we always did. With the same ignorance and arrogance.
