Also during Her Loss after Circo Loco, he made an article about leaving misogyny in hip hop hip behind and had Drake, Future and Tory in the graphic. Now Future has LONG since made misogyny his brand. So where was his hit piece? You’d think the main guy would warrant one.
This comes off as as if they have topics they could have been wrote about but just save it until they have an excuse to put Drake in it for the maximum visibility.
If you’re going to be a fan of hip hop and especially a journalist of it, where saying #FreeWhoever has always been around then you can’t be selective about who it’s OK to write about and WHAT it’s ok to support (We can say FreeThugger and FreeMaxB and FreeTayK or FreeMelly all we want but you say Free Tory and you might as well have shot Meg yourself)
My argument to this would be …… you don’t have to make this stance if you’re Drake. Especially when you consider his fractured/terrible relationship with ROLLING STONE. You are one of the top 10 biggest artist in the world currently of course everything that you do is going to be a topic or a conversation or a trend.. Hell him saying, Anita Max, when turned into a crypto coin, people are actually making money off of this random meme.
You don’t think the artist that people have been critical of in the past whether from people who occupy his genre or outside of the genre of questioned his intent, not to speak on social issues, is outwardly as his peers, Isn’t an easy target for this type of article?

Yes, several people particularly black women who occupied his fan base have definitely kept receipts for the Circo Loco line and his off hand comments for It was all a blur tour. But for the public as a whole It’s been out of sight out of mind topic. If you’re so conscious of your brand Why even reinvigorate the conversation?

And that’s completely fair. I think there is something to say about how we consume hip-hop, especially white audience members and its relationship with violence. I think people are more willing to align or support themselves with alleged murders Because they believe it it’s an authenticity about it.
Nobody wants to support a rapist, a sexual assault, or somebody that abuses women

It's a hit piece since he didn't even mention them at all this is an unprovoked attack
I guess if you want to be specific you can say it's a takedown attempt or rundown whatever but it comes off more as a manifesto
An essay written overnight (or even a template ready to go) is definitely a "hit" but there's not much ammo here since again it's based on his post from yesterday and 1 line in a song... I'd call it filler on a slow news day
