Ross has way more coherent verses, he is light years ahead in the guest features department, he held his own in beefs (both the booth and the streets), he created a successful label and took Meek and Wale up from the dirt. Despite this he probably still has a better vocabulary than Kendrick and a more coherent flow and a trademark deep rapping voice.

All he does in beefs is bait with subliminals and then backs out like "c-consider yourself lucky you didn't see my lyrical wrath". He relies on shock value, critic bait and better musicians to hide the fact that he himself is not that good. His verses are incoherent with out of place big words thrown in. There is no such thing as a Kendrick quotable unless it's him screaming about d*** or ass with a "funny" alien voice. His flow is far from smooth and his voice is painful to listen to.
