    dat guy

older rappers are out of touch and think you can still get backlash for being real about em like in the early 2000s

80's rappers still refer to Eminem and sometimes Kendrick as new rappers, that's all they know.

Proud of Kendrick for making it but then again he came from the same people that gave them Eminem. So in a way that's just like watching Stallone doing Rambo instead of Rocky.

Em is soft now. He praises every artist he meets. And then he gets slapped in the face by everyone including his own artists.

Young Em wouldn't have tolerated this disrespect by everyone. He kicked Stat for less lmao.

maybe his response now is a sign of maturity lol

but i do think it's dumb s***ting on an iconic legend cos you don't like Revival.

It's pretty obvious that whether his new albums were good, mid or bad, he'd still be remembered for his early projects. he deserves respect for those, which i do think he still gets overall tbf

big slave master energy with this post

royce stated his opinion, you caucasians really think you can monetise every aspect of black culture down to niggas opinions & free thinking lol

    The f***? lol

Send him on tour without Em. A lyrical rapper in 2020. You think he would be doing arenas?

He's been on Em's d*** since they got back. And it makes sense, it means a lot of money.

Don't turn this into a race thing. This could have been Banks and 50 for example.

He still going and doing ok which is not easy. Just look for the other rappers that were around when Em was hot. Where are they?

And you can't let people slap you left and right. And even have your artists go on the radio and agree with them publicly (Lord Jamar situation). 50 would have kicked an artist out of the label for making him look bad publicly. He pretty much did with Game.

Stans really mad in Royce's IG comments. Bunch of white boys and dudes from india telling Royce about who the best rapper. Embarrassing

I've been saying for years that as time passes, the smokescreens regarding Eminem & his "greatness" will begin to disperse & his sole reliance on the brand of Eminem vs his musical abilities (minus Dre) will slowly diminish, revealing his legacy for what it is, an inconsistent trend bloated by numerical factors

People finally waking up, praise Jah

    SSEP (before Dre) & SSLP
    MMLP
    Devil's Night
    TES
    8 Mile & Soundtrack
    D12 World
    Relapse
    Hell: The Sequel

That's leaving out all the ok projects and obviously his two trash albums.

He said f*** stans. What did you expect?

It's like when that dude from griselda said Stans were a bunch of nerds.

You can't just generalize and say f*** Eminem fans. The Eminem fans you use when you need them.

Royce is being real, regardless if you like it or not

If he woulda come out and said Em is #1 in his top 10, I would understand cause that's his opinion. I would however, argue it based on my belief of the brand of Eminem overshadowing his abilities as a musician, resulting to the brainless praise he gets for doing diet versions of what niggas been doing lol

You bringing up how much Em has helped Royce like it should sway a discussion based solely on music is irrelevant cause money clearly can't buy his opinion, so keep that spineless energy to yourself lol. Em clearly has far too many yes men around him (fans included), he needs a real nigga to shake up his self absorbed world from time to time

I respect anyone's opinion when it comes to top 10. Which no one does tbh.

You can make a thread here and everybody would be like change this change that. Instead of understanding that's someone opinion.

My problem is not with Snoop's top 10, or Royce's. It's with the way they made those comments. Downplaying Em's career for no reason or even dissing Em's whole fan base (Royce).

Like I said from the beggining, Em loves 80s rap and most likely loves Snoop's top 10.

Nah, I'm sure so many people got into Royce through Em and now listen to his albums, go to his shows, watch his interviews, supported SH,...

It happened to me back in 2002, but I don't enjoy his whole albums, just some songs.

Maybe because they understand that Eminem's career has been bloated by numerical factors largely owed to his pigmentation, pushing this "anti sjw!! freedom of speech" garbage which his fans eat up like caucasians ever had an issue in that department, problematic stances regarding the culture which made him & a few solid albums followed by back to back garbage.

Combine this with his brainless 'non hip hop listener' fanbase who swear "Mumble rap" (a derogatory term for niggas who dont meet their holier than thou expectation of what a "rapper!!" is btw) being the death of a genre they don't even love like that. Combine that with Em putting heavy emphasis on lyricism, like its the make it or break it factor of what makes you a rapper... knowing his fanbase will prioritise this because that's the only thing they think Hip hop is about, and you have a classic case of yakubian ignorance. Em has attracted this fanbase for a reason and I'd imagine Royce has felt this first hand, warranting his words lol

His proclamation of being the greatest is a natural trait within Hip hop itself, I get it. But what exactly makes him that? What makes him the rap god? What makes him top 10 worthy? Truth is none of the above is applicable when judged by merits we often judge rappers/musicians by. People hive mind praise Em so much with very little backing of said opinion, you're just used to it! which is why the tiniest bit of criticism has you in damage control, because you cannot fathom people with platforms sharing the opinion of us bottom feeders. I wouldn't be so critical of him if he didn't consistently use differing aspects of the culture as song topic to s*** on... while he himself makes garbage music without Dre,

    This is just hating lol

We've seen tons of jokes about mumble rap. The hate was there even while Em was inactive, he didn't diss mumble rap until like 2010?

Remember all the jokes about not knowing wth Future was saying? The jokes about the hard work it would be for his engineers? lol Nicki calling Desiigner "special" because of the way he raps? People reading the lyrics on genius cause they don't have a clue what mumble rappers are saying?

It's the same with Wayne hate. They blame Em fans, but people were making fun of him for dropping what he called a rock album and even calling him a fa.gg for the clothes he was wearing (even female clothes). Dude was even getting booed back then (How To Love performance).

  • He may not be wrong. The only album that Em has on par with Doggystyle is MMLP

  • Also it’s a lot different for niggas that lived through that era. My mom told me that the hype behind Snoop’s first album was crazy. The hype was basically equivalent to pre Views, pre Carter 3, and pre GRODT.
