Not sure if it’s what he’s saying but there’s a point in that statement. People do the most online and get outraged about words and who can say what (not just in this case but in general, i.e. “spaz”) but when it comes to actual stuff that matters like institutionalized racism, unequal job opportunities, subpar education funding, etc., it’s crickets.

I think society has taken everything from us, so we latch onto the one thing we have the power to police: the use of a word.

It's a hallmark of being oppressed, and it's somehow similar to how women who have s***for money will let clients do anything to them except kiss, because they're reserving that one act of intimacy for their real partners.
