I'm sorry for not hyping the s*** out of this album, I kinda expected they were running out of steam.
This is definitely up there with their best.
The more I listen the more I think this is the best out of all the albums they put out. Masterful. EL-P deserves a world of accolades.

20+ years in and El-P is putting out the best work he’s ever done
This feels like him and Mike are in perfect synergy on this album. Last album felt like they were on the edge, but this one they’re just bouncing off of one another effortlessly.
Pseudo-Christians, y'all indifferent

“Look at all these slave masters posing on your dollars” is a crazy good double entendre
A major criticism from me is many of these beats sound similar in texture and tend to blend together and so don’t stick out

I disagree. Most of the beats have so many intricate layers and switch ups.. You need headphones to truly appreciate it all.

They are intricate; they don’t feel differentiated.

Damnnn, never considered a double entendre here. I only caught the first meaning. Are slave masters in this case also capitalists/those in power “imposing” on your dollar? Could it also be “posin on your dollar” implying that they are flexing with the money that is rightfully yours due to the exploitative nature of modern day capitalism? So maybe a triple entendre? Slave masters being business owners/lobbyists etc. and the rest of us being the proletariat.
Am I reading too much into it? I just know that Mike is a social democrat so it would be in line with this core beliefs.
