If you’ve listened to Rush Limbaugh, you’d know that a lot of those quotes are tongue in cheek or hyperbolic for the sake of entertainment.

Same reason why Charlemagne the God says the s*** he says. Same reason why rappers say half the s*** they do.

They’re entertainers. If they’re not saying something provocative or humorous they aren’t doing their job.

The reason why I brought up other people is because everyone is okay with edgy s*** until an old white man says it. There’s clearly a double standard.

No one likes it when people brought up the rape case with Kobe but god forbid Rush says some iffy stuff for entertainment.

Idk, if you have to use these type of quotes to entertain your audience does that not say a lot about the people you're attempting to appeal to? People say things they don't believe deep down for the sake of entertainment all the time.

But you have to consider their platform, their influence, and their audience. He may not believe the 'hyperbolic' racist rhetoric that he's spewed for years. But his followers do, and having someone with a platform like him reaffirm their racist beliefs does nothing but empowers them which becomes a problem for everyone else. Charlamagne says outlandish s***, but he doesn't or hasn't purely s*** on a multitude of cultures like Rush has purely for the sake of 'entertainment'.

And as far as Kobe goes, the case was dropped. I'm not well versed in it to have a concrete opinion on whether he did or didn't do it. But as a victim of a false claim myself, unless he's convicted, or there's substantial evidence, I'm not demonizing somebody. And even if then Kobe used his platform to promote positivity and unity, I can't say the same for Rush.
