When artist are on Russ's level, they MAY pay, but exchanging of verses and hooks are far more common than money.

Russ is big enough, and is good enough w/hooks, production, etc. to where Baby being featured on his song and in the video is worth it.

The industry is bigger than just the artist. Checkbooks are ALWAYS being used. They have teams to support and people to pay. Every verse ever comes with compensation.

It's not necessarily about whether or not they suck.

W/Drake and Ye, they're so big you can't pay them enough to do your song. Like, no act has the amount of money to shell out 1.5 Ms or whatever it would actually cost for a Drake / Ye feature.

So w/them it's not even about the money, it's truly about do they f*** with the song and whether or not it's beneficial to them.
