My respect for this nigga as an artist grew reading this post. I'm glad he's making a stand on the "rep" people putting on him as the "tortured/grief-stricken" artist therefore putting him in a box.
THIS is the type of s*** I miss from the genre I grew up on. Niggas that CARE about they s***. And like...not even on no like "oh we need conscious rap" type stuff.
Like, you can tell Carti cares about his s***.
I miss niggas that care bro. And during a time where we're going through a changing of the guard and legends I grew up on starting to just...not care (you can pick a name I'm saying all of em), it's posts like this that give me hope man.

Idk I always felt like when critics did that it was subconsciously an effort to stagnate the artist progression simply by reminding them they can’t exist in a place without their pain characterizing them of course honestly/vulnerability is key but summing up the entire black experience and expression solely to trauma is highkey insensitive or even when a black artist subvert preconceived ideas in their respective genres it’s usually shunned and that’s can break an artist spirit causing them to conform. It’s like folks don’t want us to know that we’re capable of being greater than we are I hate seeing squandered potential in order to survive in a space controlled by folks that should even be dictating what this culture is and our people thinking they gotta shoot below their belt because of that s***s tragic watch they call him sensitive for speaking on that unjust logic tho like they did noname
Bro said watching my back like my ass getting fat that’s a hilarious bar
Joseph chilliams a hilarious rapper
I met saba in like 2014, he wasn't even performing, just in the crowd watching smino at swsx, very cool person
He’s J Cole with worse bars but better production
not even remotely similar in sound
He’s J Cole with worse bars but better production
This makes 0 sense
His whole style different. More so influenced by bone thugs
There's a special kind of feeling linked to Saba's albums it's pretty hard to explain but I'm having a pretty hard time thinking about other albums linked with the same vibes
