second listen, same feelings. it's ok, it's fun. an 8.0 it is not. that 1-2 punch of Bed Chem and Espresso blows everything else out of the water for me. pop fans clown Julia Michaels but she writes bop after bop lol

i'm also just realizing how grating her voice is on Please Please Please since i've been listening in headphones. she sounds good otherwise but that one hurts my ears

she gotta leave the slow songs like Dumb & Poetic and Lie to Girls alone next time. i'm interested to see what tracks end up on a deluxe. could've been a situation where she had a style she was going for on the album, then the singles blew up like they did and they filled it in with more poppy stuff.
