I’m annoyed at the fact that Josh doesn’t have anything lined up atm… what is the industry doing not throwing money at him

Nah I’m sure he has more s*** he’s working on secretly, he was green lit by Netflix to do that baseball film but bc of the strike everything fell outta order.

I’m not sure if he NEEDED NEEDED to film during a live baseeball game or why he couldn’t work around it but having those restrictions makes scheduling harder. Plus the rumors of Sandler not feeling the screenplay or something

    The strikes did happen

I know. Plus Josh needing it to be filmed during a live baseball season, the split up wit bro and creative differences with Sandler. Getting green lit has never been the issue.

  • We got Smashing Machine coming soon and just got a fire series from Benny/Nathan

Hope you’re right. Its a real shame that all of it fell apart after the strikes fr

And something we all are failing to say...but...maybe what Josh was writing wasn't that good? I mean Benny didn't want any parts of it...I'm not sure whatsup wit their other writer Ronald. Benny is on fire rn with all the acting gigs and has his solo effort lined up and just killed it with The Curse. Maybe Josh is the "weaker link" of the two? Idk.

Also I'm optimistic about him "writing something else secretly" because 1. I think i read a rumor that he was and 2. these guy are writers first and foremost. They had Uncut gems in the works while also writing Heaven knows what and then Good time, so they always have something they're writing. The Smashing Machine news came outta nowhere after already been written...even tho that's Benny I'd assume Josh has the same work ethic because I think I think with their previous films Josh and Ronald handled majority of the writing?

I forgot the line up but I think it was Josh/Ronald handled most the writing.
    Josh/Benny did the directing
Benny/Ronald handled the editing? Or something like that or Benny handled most the editing

This does make me wonder who's the better writer out of the 3: Benny, Josh or Ronald and who did majority of the heavy lifting. I should do a deep dive into their interviews again cus I think Ronald said he goes more of a character study "plotless" approach, while Josh helped mold Uncut into a more narrative structure with plot points

Good point bringing up Bronstein. He was credited on The Curse but pretty sure he’s not a part of The Smashing Machine.

And I doubt Josh was the weaker half. I very much like The Pleasure of Being Robbed & can certainly see how his vision had a major impact on everything the two have done afterwards.

Maybe he’s just trying to acclimate to working without his brother again, must be tough after such a fruitful few years.

If there’s one thing I want these two to do in their solo efforts, is to put Ronald in front of a camera again. Dude was amazing in Daddy Longlegs

Yeah I don't mean weaker link as in he sucks, but more so is Benny/Ronald needed in order for him to succeed or can he make something great 100% solo? And I'm more so referring to the writing being people were saying his Netflix movie's problem had some issues with the screenplay.

I can definitely see that being a thing. Just found out he was writing Pleasure of Being Robbed with Eleonore.

I can only imagine his mind going in a thousand directions writing solo, If I had to go off of his behavior in interviews and bts

exactly!! it makes me wonder if Benny or Ronald was there to say "hey, lets calm this s*** down and narrow in and focus on THIS right here"

I can see him writing a script and going in a million different directions and ideas
