Idk man if anything I feel like they’re just perfecting and building on their style. Every narrative film they’ve done has gone more in the anxiety area than the last one. Good Time was already an expansion of it off of their prior film. I think it works since no one else does it like them

Great f***ing movie

I donno if I agree with the last statement. Just because no one else is doing it alone can't justify going overboard with a certain style. I found the overlapping dialogue, camera work kind of grating after a while. I probably would've put up with it more if the story was a bit more gripping or had an emotional core to it like Good Time did..

Of course this is all my opinion.

I also haven't seen anything they've done prior to Good Time.

Safdie bros pretty good at creating hectic/anxiety filled moments the chaotic music/characters always talking over each other def helped

ALL I knew going in was the trailer and Adam Sandler, I don’t even watch Sandler movies and never heard of the Safdie but holy F*** I got to catch up

The tension yet the humor, the whole build up and acting performances all around

The score

The Weeknd scene and K.Dot playing, man I was vibing fam

Only bummer was that the dude next to me was a nerd with glasses and long hair he was perfectly quiet but then during the finale scene he popped his phone out bright and moving his leg like ready to get out ASAP and leave really took me out for a second of the intensity of the last bit the whole energy in the theater was so tense my date during the big moment went “oh goddd”

S*** incredible kept me on the edge the whole time
