From the videos and reviews I've watched of this so far, it does look like it is going back to the more grounded less insane days of Saints Row. Something that I've been wanting for some time (mostly just a remake/remaster of Saints Row 2 because that had the perfect balance) but in this game it's almost too "grounded" for its own good. In regards to Saints Row at least. Game looks very generic and bland if you can believe that.

Embarrassing bugs and glitches aside, because damn near every game has that s*** these days, at its best the game is just okay. Not terrible, just very bland in terms of gameplay. So I can't really see many sticking with it long term. It's a shame because the new world looks very cool. There is potential for a lot of fun s*** to do in that game world. Maybe if they decide to give it another go for a Saints Row 2 they can find something.

This does remind me a lot of the very first Saints Row game though. It was good, but it was sticking a bit too close to GTA. It wasn't until Saints Row 2 that they found their own identity, and then Saints Row 3 when they fully embraced how crazy the game can be. Maybe this reboot series can have the same trajectory.

The mindless fun is definitely there for sure, but you'd probably still be better off with Saints Row 3 or 4 if that's what you're looking for as there is much more to do.

Kinda but besides the bugs and glitches being fixed I don't really see them doing or adding all that much to it unfortunately. Anything is possible though. Something they should definitely add is being able to actually take part in the heists side missions. They really just have you do all the pre-heist setup, just to literally sit outside in the getaway car until your gang eventually finishes the heist

This looks ass. Like there's a lot of stuff but it feels and looks so hollow. I'll get this for 10 bucks in a year or two but yikes imagine buying this full price
