my review of Malibu

this was a phenomenal listen man.. i've heard a few joints off of here but i'm such an idiot for being this late. i legitimately feel stupid.. what is even wrong with me. this nigga .Paak is special man. the way he blends all of these genres together is magical. this is such a beautiful take on neo-soul, which is my favorite genre in the entire world. the production on this album is top tier, so many different sounds but it's all cohesive and blends together gorgeously.

.Paak is a dope ass vocalist and an even better lyricist and songwriter. this s*** seems so effortless to him.. i love everything about his style. so unique yet familiar all at the same time. i love the lil interludes about surfing at the end of the songs as well, such a nice touch.

this listen blew my mind. i don't even know how to begin to pick my 3 favorite songs but let's see what i can cook up...

my review of Venice

i wasn't expecting too much from this listen considering it's his debut.. he was really finding his sound on here, experimenting with different sounds and styles. d**** though.. i'm so glad he didn't keep going down that lane, genuinely one of the worst songs i have heard all year. that was atrocious.

theres some really good songs, some songs that aren't bad.. and some songs that i just wished would end. the songwriting on this album is pretty mediocre.. production isn't anything to write home about either. just kind of blah. definitely excited to see his evolution though.
