Ptsd is not just for life altering, war, rape s*** tho.
It literally just means that. You cam hypothetically have ptsd from the smallest thing as a kid and it can affect you.
No one’s even saying damn, she came up outta that dark place and became successful now. All niggas is doing is just clowning her for even saying she did in the 1st place lol.

I don't dislike Saweetie, but she just has no redeeming qualities. Ebro kinda popped her bubble a little cus she probably wasn't used to being critiqued.
1. Her voice isn't unique
2. She doesn't have bars
3. Her flow is extremely stiff (you can literally hear her cutting off words and running out of breath in the ebro freestyle)
4. Just has no swagger/charisma
Imo even if you aren't considered a good rapper, you usually have at least one of these.
Like look at Yahcty freestyling w/ Ebro, he goes off beat a few times and he's not a lyricist, but his voice is unique, he flows with the beat, and he's just spitting like its effortless + has a few funny lines that even Ebro laughs.
Doesn’t she have a bachelors degree? She has no idea what PTSD means. I have real clinical PTSD and I’ll tell you now you can’t get that s*** from someone humiliating you on a talk show lol embarrassment =\= PTSD

seems like a situation that we've all experienced where you got someone telling you they're "OCD" because they like to have a clean desk or someone saying they have anxiety just because they're nervous for something tbh
its called being humbled

finally something good done by the administration of this site
I feel like they think every rapper should be able to freestyle, but maybe they just good at making songs and that's it, or they can freestyle but they suck at making songs.
the definition of PTSD doesn't really matter when the point of it is that Ebro was super condescending and was a leading contributor to the hate that followed Saweetie for a while after
I'll never forget my first college jury one of the professors on the panel was for real laughing at me
Insane humbling moment
one of the professors freshman year told me to 'get my f***ing s*** together' in front of our entire major. it was well deserved.
i mean ngl that s*** really was cringe to watch but imo asking any non lyricist to freestyle is always like this, i get most people get looked at as an MC when you can spit off the dome but that’s not her lane
also ptsd isn’t the correct term to use more like her self esteem was in the worst place ever

I stand corrected.
Yalll laughing but imagine being told you suck at your dream in front of people like that
i get it if you are unknown and coming up and are expressing yourself for the first time but if i was a millionaire off the same profession i would not give a single s*** what anyone had to say
Usually rappers who take their pen srs have lines and schemes they remember that didn't make the album cut or just have in case they gotta freestyle
Freestyles have been apart of rap culture for the longest: to not be ready when you go on radio says alot about the rap artist imo
I'd expect rappers to be eager to flex muscle....
!https://youtu.be/6DabALkXAo8!https://youtu.be/RbimBJJiGUANo it doesn't.
That's an opinion that oldheads keep clinging to. You don't need to be able to freestyle 25 bars on the radio to be a highly successful rap artist.
Especially since unlike the 90s, you can't just make a career/reputation running around multiple radio stations with the same freestyle cause of the internet records everything.
Freestyling aint a major attribute of your skills as a rapper. If you can do it, cool. But it aint something that if a rapper doesn't do it don't make they skills any lesser than f***in' Supernatural. And who tf can tell me a song of his?
I'll wait.
No it doesn't.

Well have to agree to disagree
But usually rappers who duck freestyles or don't know how to, are sub-par compared to those who can these are just my standards, or a school of thought lol
I'm probably a oldhead/dusthead lol I don't mind, it's just a preference
To me freestyles or wanting to show off you can freestyle is just a demonstration of skills - I really believe they're cutting down on doing that cuz they just don't practice rapping enough for it to come of as natural
Like I said most freestylers, who happen to be top notch rappers, use throwaway bars better than whatever saweetie puts on her a actual albums
Ps: rapping isn't about who put out the most popular album or whatever so saying "where's his album" doesn't make sense when the argument is "look at his off the dome freestyle", he's a skilled rapper, respected amongst those who care about rap music and hip hop as an artform not rap music the latest trend.
Her face after his critique is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in my entire life. Thank you for posting this Singh.

Eh, It's a lot of very lyrical rappers today that don't freestyle. They may just not wanna do it lol. I'm not saying freestyling is a bad thing by any means listen Royce and Black Thought had some of the dopest things ever.
I just stopped judging a rapper's sole talent by whether or not they can freestyle years ago when the whole generation that was given the most flack for not doing it on the radio, created an entire wave while we laughed them out of radio stations cause "Lil Uzi Vert wouldn't freestyle over DJ Premier"
If you freestyle that's like a nice little attribute to have (shoutout to Meg) for all the hip hop heads. But I'd personally would rather you either be a mixture of both (spitter/songwriter) or just not a freestyler. Cause it aint like I'ma listen to that radio freestyle on my iphone on the way to work and that got nothing to do with popularity.
good to normalize mental health discussions but we also need real education and information instead of misusing real diagnoses.
PTSD is this a f***ing joke? this is why nobody takes female rap seriously alongside megtheman.
Bring back Lil Kim, Foxy, and Missy
real barrers with GOOD music.
freestyling on radio is such an outdated practise and is always awkward or super cringe it also is not a measure of a rappers skill level at all
as far as rap ability yes it is. tf you talking about. all the greats did it?
these new kids cant do it... wha a co-incidence they cant rap as good. its easily a measure of a skill level.
nothing to do with music creating ability
Ohhhhh they removed likes. Lol you’re extra for updating
Na im just showing mods that i can play there game to
I consider off the dome freestyling to be like double or triple time flow. If you can do it, that's a cool skill, but not being able to doesn't disqualify you from being considered a great rapper.
There are many great battle rappers who improvise/freestyle but are terrible at making songs, and there are many rappers who aren't known for their ability to go off top, but have great songwriting capabilities.
As long as you write/think of your own s***, I can forgive a rapper who doesn't go off top.
