Sorry but Drake wasn’t making hip hop the #1 genre in 2017. Kendrick outsold him that year and ATL was making more noise than Drake was so…?? Even Flower Boy was highlighted more than More Life.
I heard Bodak Yellow than I heard anything off More Life manDrake didn’t make hip hop the number one genre but he was a major force behind it. It was the combination of a bunch of commercially viable rappers making some of their best music all around the same time that made hip hop undeniable during that period.

Shelbywe are disagreeing heavily on this, I think the production on this album was amazing! especially the R&B cuts, where the album shines the most, like Polar Opposites, Tried Our Best, etc...
my only thing is that Daylight and Fear Of Heights might sound like the same track, even though I fw both

his status in rap in 2023Some points are valid but his fanbase is hardly the worst and even if it was then we judge art by the artist not the fans (even though people have a double standard for Drake). Also he addressed the Messiah persona in MMATBS (I personally dislike the album but you can't lie that he touches on this)

I’m a huge Drake fan too but you’re clearly out of your element when it comes to hip hop outside of Drake and friends
