FATD - DELUXE REVIEW
Early review off first listen. Will probably change.
Red Button - FINALLY. A Drake bar song that isn't monotone. I LOVE Drake but I'm so sick of monotone rap (Champagne Poetry, 8AM in Charlotte, BB King Freestyle etc). He isn't screaming but the cadence and delievery is there on this song along with the bars. Elevates the song and shows it's not all about lyrics. 8/10
Stories About My Brother - And like that... we're back to monotone. Conductor Williams is such an overrated producer, no one is tryna hear this s***. He did 8AM in Charlotte too. 5/10
The Shoe Fits - This for the old school Drake fans. Sounds like something that could have been on his 2007 Comeback Season mixtape. The Little Brother influence, who was very influenctial on Drake's early sound, shines through on this song. 7.5/10
Wick Man - Some parts of this are monotone, but honestly, in a very rare instance, it works. This instrumental is funky. When I first heard the beginning it reminded me of Club Paradise, then the reverse sound and video game clicks kicked in. Drake floated all over it. Laid back flow works well here. The breaks inbetween some bars lets what he says really set in. 8.5/10
Evil Ways - The beat reminds me of Weston Road Flows. And Cole and Drake going back and forth?! Nothing more needs to be said. 9/10
You Broke My Heart - Amazing. Incredible. Sensational. The sample that begins the song, the delievery, the beat drop, flow, the Smiley adlibs, and the 2 minute outro chanting F*** My Ex. Everything about this is perfect. "Down bad boys, sad boys I've been representing since birth". 10/10
5/10 for the best song on the album
You cooked us
I’m at the point now where I don’t even care who he’s talking about anymore. Just make it sound cool and I’ll pretend it’s about a theoretical hater.
I don’t know who this man is

produced this, not surprising he’s not into straight hip-hop music
Move Views down and tie it with CLB

Here's my FATD Standard review
Virgina Beach - 9/10 - Best intro on a Drake project in the 2020's. The Frank Ocean sample is immaculate. The spoken word before the song even starts sets the tone for the album. Melodies are mad catchy, song would be great live. Lyrics any 🐶 can relate to.
Amen - 6/10 - Teezo Touchdown gotta be an industry plant. First on Travis album now this. It's an alright record, pretty boring.
Calling For You - 4/10. Worst 21 Savage and Drake collaboration yet. The beat switch doesn't even make sense. It sounds like two completely different random leftover songs stitched together. The interlude drags on too long. Drake's verse is forgettable. Only redeeming part is 21 Savage's verse is decent.
Fear of Heights - 8.5/10 - I'm Anti. This song goes crazy hard, especially after the beat drop.
Daylight - 8/10 - Great song and an example of a simple yet effective chorus. Only complaint is that this song is short and feels short. There are short songs on the album that work but this one could have benefitted from an addtional verse. Adonis's verse should have been it's own interlude.
First Person Shooter - 9/10 - Cole and Drake so ofcourse it's going to be fire. Great song but slightly overhyped. Being said, Cole blacked out on his verse and Drake held his own, especially on the beat switch.
IDGAF - 8.5/10 - Great song. Always love when Drake gets on current production and shows he can dominate outside his comfort zone. Only complaint is that it sounds like a Yeat song featuring Drake.
7969 Santa - 7.5/10 - I initially didn't like this song but it's growing on me already. Instrumental is spacy and Drake floats. Good use of Chief Keef sample. Could of benefitted from a Robb Bank$ feature. Teezo Touchdown additional vocals and Snoop Dogg spoken word should be cut.
Slime You Out - 9/10 - Drake and SZA bodied this. The month by month break down on Drake's second verse is iconic. Also the bars in the first verse about wires/payment plans.
Bahama Promises - 6/10 - An alright song. Nothing special but don't hate it.
Tried Our Best - 8.5/10 - Unfortunately played this out when it was a leak but it is a great record. If a leak had to make the album though, I think "I'm the Problem" should have made it over this. Would probably be top 3 on the album, finished.
Screw the World Interlude - N/A - Homage to DJ Screw. Interlude is a portion of his screwed up freestyle over "If I Ruled the World" by Nas. Unranked because it is an old released song and Drake doesn't appear on it.
Drew a Picasso - 8.5/10 - "Moving like Snoopy and Charlie Brown/Feel like you wanna dog the kid". Great song that captures the ups and downs of a relationship. Smooth, chill record. Great for late nights.
Members Only - 8.5/10 - PARTY's BACK! Or making his yearly appearence from hiding. The beat is perfect for PartyNextDoor and Drake. They ride it perfectly. Party's adlibs throughout Drake verse elevate it perfectly. Before anyone else we need a Drake and PartyNextDoor collaboration album.
What Would Pluto Do - 9/10 - Been waiting for this song since the snippet. Catchy as f***. Great melodies and verses. Yachty adlibs elevate the song, great use of him.
All the Parties - 8.5/10 - The bars in the second verse reflecting on the state of Toronto Hip-Hop and the politics were necessary words to be said. Chief Keef should have done every repetion of the chorus.
8AM in Charlotte - 5/10 - Cool lyrics but I don't care for these monotone somber tracks with no chorus.
BBL Love - 8/10 - Funny interlude. Great record for what it is, and a nice palate cleanser before the next song. The song gives Kanye influence to me. Reminds me of his "Throw Some D's" freestyle. And a Sade outro?! One of my dream Drake collaborations. They need to get one in.
Gently - 8/10 - Groovy song and Drake's spanish got better but way too short. Tons of replay value so I guess it makes up for it.
Rich Baby Daddy - 9.5/10 - Almost a perfect record. Gets me hype, everyone killed their verses and Redd came with a catchy hook. Only thing is I would cut the beat switch and additional Drake verse as it takes away from the mood of the song.
Another Late Night - 8/10 - A much better collaboration than "Oprah's Bank Account". They both did their thing with great production behind them.
Away From Home - 10/10 - This is the one. Introspective song with great lyrics, flow, delievery catchiness and melodies. BNYX stepped out of his comfort zone with the production and it worked out for the best.
Polar Opposites - 9/10 - Like the intro, lyrics only the 🐶's can relate to. The placement of the song on the album's my only real gripe. The album should of ended with "Away From Home" and this song appearing earlier. Yebba sample is cool.
