The girls are fighting
No, like 80% of the public we are upset this is dull and forgettable music.
Nobody wants to hear Drake in a poetry slam with the same redundant lyrics about trifling ass women reshuffled differently every song
This is just hate at this point lol

Expecting better from him is hate
Yeah, no wonder why yall are a lost cause

No I just don’t really get your critique. If tried our best, drew a Picasso, Virginia Beach, Bahamas Promises, What Would Pluto Do, Away From Home, Polar Opposites, and Calling For You are “forgettable music” then idk what to really say. I mean those are all solo drake songs that I could hardly classify as “forgettable”.
Listening to Views
Feel No Ways - Hype - Weston Road
3 back to back solo immaculate songs with perfect melodies.
How did he go from that to an entire 30 song album being tuneless, monotone, and lifeless. This is insane. It used to be so easy and effortless for him
How can we get back on track
Never did I imagine he’d turn into an equivalent of present Nas who can “technically rap good” but is absolutely out of touch with crafting a melody and actually putting out an altogether memorable song that is good outside isolated lines

Hype
Drake for 20 better songs than that in the last year
If anything the melodies on here are his best since Views. Virginia Beach the first song on it is an absolute anthem and a TikTok smash. Then you SYO a number 1 record. Tried Your Best, Members Only and Polar Opposites are classic crooning Drake. One of the silliest arguments I’ve heard.
He ain’t tryna compromise and make crossover records anymore, he’s just doing Drake and catering towards his fans more, who love him for the deep cuts as much as anything. It’s clear he doesn’t f*** with the traditional 3 hooks and a bridge pop song structure anymore.. drake has always said he likes to challenge himself as a writer to be inspired, he don’t need to be watering it down to satisfy the masses at this stage

Including Slime You Out in an argument about this album having his best melodies in years
Yeah, this fanbase is in shambles.
That @iHype account a hater posing as a fan zzz.
There’s no way anybody who genuinely loves drake music hasn’t at least found a bunch of special music between Her Loss, Honestly Nvm, FATD. Impossible
Uses Hype as an example too. I’m still laughing
The only critique I had with For All the Dogs was that the rap moments weren't strong enough and were few (basically the same critique I have with Views) so Drake correcting that with SH3 makes this like the perfect Drake album for me. He went 26/29 imo.
Sorry to anyone who can't enjoy For All the Dogs because that ain't me
I mean his hooks are definitely not on the same level as they used to be.
Not even talking about dance/r&b tracks such as passionfruit, one dance, hotline bling, etc.
Look at older hip-hop stuff like light up, underground kings or wu-tang forever - if you're a drake fan you can instantly remember those hooks cause they stand out even in a hip-hop track.
He did lose his knack for catchy and melodic hooks, there's no denying that, not completely, but he does struggle with those nowadays.
But to say that all 30 tracks are lifeless when there are some undeniable bangers is just wrong. You Broke My Heart, Tried Our Best, Bahamas Promises, 8AM in Charlotte, etc. - all pretty great tracks. FATD is nowhere near his best, but the potential is still there if he gets some outside help - an executive producer or like an art director figure who would help sequence and cut down the excess from his next albums, streamline his sound, etc.

100% agree. SH3 addition made this a classic 🤷🏻♂️

People are too invested here to see through the cracks tbh, you're wasting energy
Your point is so obviously right
For All the Dogs to me is Drake's best collection of album cuts since Care Package.
Virginia Beach
7969 Santa
Slime You Out
Bahamas Promises
Tried Our Best
Drew a Picasso
Members Only
All the Parties
Away from Home
Polar Opposites
All great album cuts that lean on the moody end of things that I love and Drake is excellent at. Songs like Fear of Heights, Daylight, IDGAF, RBH are all great songs that I refer back to whenever I'm working out or just wanna get hype and then when I wanna listen to pure rapping, I have 8AM in Charlotte and SH3 to listen to. Why the f*** would I complain about any of that?

The OG For All the Dogs is already incredible. All SH3 did was push it up in Drake's album rankings for me.

They're not posing as a hater. They just prioritize hits over everything else lol.
They've been legit upset for years now since Drake peaked with hit-making on Scorpion and hasn't been making a clear effort to return back to that. They basically echo the same sentiments as @mangotflu and think when he isn't crafting and cranking out hits left and right, he has no value as an artist.
Best RnB Drake to date
Definitely. It has his best collection of R&B cuts till date on any album. I kinda wish he just left the album as an R&B project tbh.
