Tbh I don’t even think it’s about him being secure about his work, I think it’s more just how he has always been one to think about public opinion and legacy and he’s good at helping shape it and control it. so he doesn’t want to let a bad narrative go for too long, I think he’s just trying to squash some of that.

S*** is too long for most people. It’s just not a pleasant experience. I think it’s good too and I think some of the hate was a little unfair and overblown, but all he had to do was trim it and it would’ve been praised

I don’t think it’s just people writing it off from track number, it’s just, barely any one even has the time or energy to fully listen to the album more than a couple times, so you’re going to get some surface level takes because it’s hard to digest it all.
