Ye would be burning up seeing Drake wearing Virgil in this, very intentional from The Boy
I think it’s more of a Tribute
just like the IAAB Tour has a Virgil statue, they truly had a close relationship and bond, he’s not just doing it to piss off Ye
I love Drake's versatility of course but there's just nothing like when he's on some pure rap s*** especially over a beat like this. Hope there's more of that on the album
Its a double edged sword, cos that versatility means he gotta appeal to alot of demographics. I can see him dropping albums like this in the twilight of his career

Yea his albums gotta be a mixed bag since views
Mannnn some good bars but not one of the best of these type of songs from drake, not a big fan of the beat
it’s still a dope song
we’re getting Hype for the current album
not every drop is gonna be an overhaul of his entire career
I think we should just be trying to enjoy what he’s making right now instead of looking into the past
Oh I see you're my little fanboy. I liked Her Loss a lot actually. The Off the radar freestyle recently too. Most of Drake's newer s*** is just hit or miss for me
how can someone like the off the radar, which was a super random hype culture song that sucked ass, but not like this one? gotta be hype culture idgaf, tiktok fried yall brain them slow beats can’t even hit

Not liking both is crazy. The bars on that one are INSANO too
Dam this song got me excited for the album now
Wasn’t expecting much after the Slime You Out song but
tmz.com/2023/10/05/drake-21-savage-immigration-case-green-card
TMZ saying the by ain't lied and Savage really got the green card and can leave the country now
"We called the Dekalb Co. Clerk, where 21's immigration case was held ... who told us the case was closed."
Lupe hella influential in my opinion, his influence is just overlooked cuz his career went to s*** in terms of mainstream popularity lol
Lupe in my eyes is one of the founding fathers of the blog era and was instrumental alongside Kanye into ushering that alternative to gangsta rap that Drake, Wale and them helped blow up in the 90s. That whole wave of s*** like The Cool Kids, Blu, etc. doesn't happen without Food & Liquor and The Cool
S***, Room For Improvement era Drake was a mix of Lupe and Phonte in terms of sound imo
Not to mention Lupe was namedropping Goyard, Yohji Yamamoto and all that fashion s*** back in 06/07 way before niggas knew what it was.
I really wish LASERS didn't happen cuz it kinda f***ed up peoples perception of him.
it’s crazy because Lasers wasn’t even a bad album
it just didn’t have the same vibe as The Cool and his fans rebelled against him for trying to run his money up and make popular music
Lasers still has some great songs that most rappers at the time couldn’t create
All Black Everything, I’m Beamin, Words I never said, all truly great rap songs that try to give what Lupe fans would love
This has to be top 3 in time stamps joints. 5pm, 4am and this
It’s 5am and 4pm right
had me doing calculations
I’m not saying Lupe isn’t influential but he isn’t more influential than Drake
I guess my point is sometimes you can still be better than someone who has more influence than you
"Influence" is just how people launder popularity and sales. Derivative works by fanboys are the goal now? He's ran rap for a decade and you guys all call it dead and washed. Is that a legacy?
Roc Marciano has a stronger bloodline than Drake. The Navs cancel out the Daves.
Melo
Was patiently waiting for any type of Hornets bars
how can someone like the off the radar, which was a super random hype culture song that sucked ass, but not like this one? gotta be hype culture idgaf, tiktok fried yall brain them slow beats can’t even hit
OTR fire
Drake on a Conductor beta is crazy
And this being a Charlotte song
Hornets surprising so many people this year
What is my boy doing with his fit and hair though
Drake gotta throw the feds off the trail because him and his goons really been sliding
the goofy appearance makes you feel like he isn’t surrounded by people that are wanted by the authorities
most of the people in the background, you can’t really see their faces
and that’s for a reason
It’s dope Drake throwing his hat in the ring with a rap track
Honestly out of the big 3, Cole his only rival bar for bar these days
it’s crazy because Lasers wasn’t even a bad album

I understand but you gotta remember bro, the one two punch of F&L and The Cool had niggas saying Lu was the chosen one those albums were on some other s***

lmao that’s ridiculous
that’s like saying Panic at the Disco shouldn’t be considered a big influence on pop punk just because a lot of the people they inspired were less skilled than them at songwriting and vocally
it doesn’t really make his influence less strong
just makes it more variable
and tbh, it shows that there’s a lot of nuance in what he does that most of his progeny are never able to translate his style into something that sounds good without being put in the box of “Drake-lite”
