I absolutely believe the internet will fundamentally be different within 10 yrs. The sheer momentum of what is happening with younger generations online is not ignorable like it was 15-25 yrs ago. Fear mongering aside, with all the discourse over ID needed to be online increasingly etc, the line between internet and irl doesn’t even exist with kids and I wouldn’t be surprised if the occurrence of online cult s*** which is highly centralized and influential is a big catalyst for increased departures from what we now assume online will always be private/psuedononymous
