Every time one of these stories comes out, people are literally praying that the shooter is from “the other team” or whatever group they hate.
Maybe we should stop extrapolating the actions of individuals on groups, regardless of what group it is.

the issue w armed conflict is that while you can probably manage skirmishing with local police if you have even a decent size militia, the unilateral force of the US military will decisively crush armed resistance 1000% of the time. you're correct that "violence" is a largely hypocritical term in a liberal capitalist society but armed resistance needs to be looked at as a tool and exercised as such.
its an issue that maoists run into commonly as an ultraleft error as the level of armed resistance you can levy will only ever be in proportion to the amount of popular support your cause has. the biggest issue in the united states is that the "advanced" segments of the population are largely both very small and stratified in precarious economic circumstances. until the size of the advanced class conscious population is big enough to move the middle, armed resistance will only ever be a mistake practically speaking.

Good points made there. I wonder sometimes if it would ever be possible with how vast and huge the US actually is; I almost feel like you'd need 50 different groups just for each state to feel like it'll have sway in the proposed aftermath. I suppose you're right too that armed resistance should be seen as a tool. The thing is armed resistance seems to be the only thing that works, if only for self-promotion: liberal (and ostensibly leftist) movements are often seen as too soft and safe for most people, and leftist infighting renders finding a common ground moot unless it's something ingrained in our culture as is the 2nd Amendment.
Our country doesn't like soft needy types, and that's how many people see the left. Moving that narrative away from the left if only an inch would help greatly. I'd assume they would have more of a clear and cogent reason for the presumed act if it was targeted as such; I personally believe that talking about political violence needs to be dealt with neutrality, especially when we know from Jan 6th that conservatives are very much willing to both die, and most importantly, kill for what they believe in.
I find it very troubling that the left hasn't found their own way to be assertive and stand up for ourselves in a similar fashion; I'd like to think we'd have just as much fight in us, if not more.
Unfortunately, that requires being real about the situation, and the way its looking, it may very well turn into an necessity that we figure out what we're willing to die and kill for, as well. That's about the safest way I could put it.
