i can tell this person hasnt done their research and is talking out their ass because there are pre-existing legal scenarios where as a vet you can have restricted gun rights if the VA decides to declare an incompetence rating in light of PTSD. many states also have state-level laws as well where PTSD can be tied to mental incompetence which would restrict gun ownership or purchasing
