AgonYIf i had to pinpoint one song where i noticed this in particular, that would be don't matter to me. Love or hate the mj parts - but that 2nd drake verse sounds like prime drake and we got a great 40 beat. And right when you are expecting him to jump into a rap verse like on the motion or trust issues the song cuts out after the hook. Its like he wrote a great verse and a decent hook and didn't want to add bars to keep with the double album concept and ended up adding that first verse where he sounds lazy and bored.
That leads me to peak. I dunno if thats a filter on his voice or bad mixing/auto tune but his voice just sounds off and too nasally. 2014 drake woulda murdered that joint and probably given us some bars or a beat switch on there. He's lowkey used that tuning/filter for some of his recent shows too.
Then he gives us songs like jaded, finesse, nice for what or his girls need love remix part where he sounds great. He still got it in him to drop songs like the motion, days in the east, furthest thing. Maybe 40 just needs to challenge him or we need jordan/party/85/noel/oz on production more. We'll see.
word next album should be interesting to say the least!

I don’t think it’s particularly “hate”. For me I realized a lot of the side A was redone or song songs was adjusted and tooking off after the pusha and Ye s***. Cause that first half was subs at Ye and how he felt against the world and pusha. Side B was some filler and just dull parts. So when I called the album mid and came off as hateful at first it was like I knew drake had a classic within this album. I think the album should of been 7 rap 7 RnB/pop. My next hope for drake album is just a 12-13 track album with strictly bars. Maybe some simp s*** in the mix. That’s what I think drizzy need right now

Yea those songs are still very good. I’ve said I would probably only remove around 2 songs off side A. It’s just I feel like drake had something better in the stash before all this beef s*** happened. Like I can tell Sandras Rose was already on the album before the beef. Songs like that throughout a whole side A would been amazing. But yea that’s the best way to explain my last part when I meant simp s*** in between. NWTS. He needs a upgraded version of NWTS but like 12 tracks. (Which I think is the best drake album ever)

Meaning it doesn’t have much of an identity aside from the fact it’s a Drake album. It’s a bunch of songs that could be Singles that don’t play well together. At least that’s what I got from it.
