where at?
Actually nvm, its the canadian release this friday. Thought it was for their streaming platform
This was cool, but the one series that would do so well with a full blown remake is Scream. Why the f*** am I still seeing the same Sydney since before I was born??? All the characters for that matter
Whaaat Sidney is basically the heart of the franchise

Naw bro AND she about to be in the next one, b**** should of been died been chasing her for 8 movies
I enjoyed the meta commentary on reboot culture in Hollywood today (and what better movie than a Scream movie to do that). With that came a lot of surprising nods to the Star Wars sequel trilogy including Dewey’s death at the midpoint being a nod to Han Solo’s death.
It was a good sequel and an enjoyable theater watch. The kills were nuts as well. Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox killed it in their returns to Sydney and Gale, I felt like a kid again watching their chemistry on screen. Dewey being so down and out# was certainly a choice, but I guess you need one nostalgia character being !#down in the dumps#, though David Arquette did a wonderful job making a !#weary Dewey believable
My gripes with the film were with Dewey’s death# and the !#reveal of the killers#. On that first one, !#it ironically suffers from the same issue as Han’s death in that we didn’t get any real connection between he and the protagonist, so the death rings hollow apart from “aw man this beloved character just got killed”.
The story needed Dewey’s death to be an All is Lost moment for Samantha, not just Gale - who was a supporting guest character. It’s Samantha’s story (I also don’t care for the actress or her performance which is another thing for me, I would have preferred Amber being the protagonist). We also needed more time to get that connection between Dewey and Samantha, which goes to another point that this film needed a tad bit more time for what it was doing
And on the subject of the killers: the reveals felt anticlimactic and predictable. Although I understand the logic and how it ties to the commentary on current nerd culture, it didn’t hit for me. On another segment of “it could’ve/should’ve been Amber”, the killer reveal could’ve/should’ve easily been her and the OUATIH girl - and it would’ve been a more hard hitting dramatic moment for the story, even if it wouldn’t have been as meta.
But overall it was a satisfying sequel and I look forward to whatever they do next, even if I’m unsure if they should do anything next…but that’s the nature of current film culture isn’t it?
Tf is she even gonna do in this one
I’m not going to lie, Melissa Barrera disappointed me as the lead. Jenna Ortega and David Arquette carried. I hope the twins and Hayden Panettiere return for the sequel
I’m actually looking forward to the sixth one
Finally got around to seeing this today and I’m appalled at how bad of an actor Sam is
Everyone was acting circles around this bihh
