One of Denzel's underrated movies great performance and message.
Anyway, he takes an ER hostage in order to get the hospital to pay for his son's super expensive operation. Most (not all necessarily) of the hostages are pretty friendly, talkative and willing to help out John how they can.
I suppose having a gun in your face could sort of force your hand, but the hostages in this movie seem to genuinely be on Johns side, regardless of being held at gun point against their will.
My question is, if you were held hostage by someone trying to save their kid, or some other extremely noble reason, would you be willing to help them, and be friendly at all or would it be f*** them regardless of the situation?
Once we collectively realize it’s us against them this question should become pretty simple all things considered
lot of times when palestinians took white hostages they came around to the struggle
same with black POWs in korea who saw themselves in the PLA. it happens all the time. at a certain point the gun becomes unnecessary.
One of my favorite movies growing up
