i use scan and go so they just scan my code and a couple items.
if you got like 10 or less items they scan 3 items, if its more they scan 5. I normally just put the bulkiest s*** on top so they forced to scan those and the rest below all free

Self checkout use to be for 10 items or fewer. S*** is ass when you got one item and just want to scan and bounce, but you got to wait for 6 mfs with carts full of product
