the raid 2 one of the best sequels ever. raises the stakes in every way. love that one
Seconded. Raid 2 is amazing
Get Him To The Greek, if that counts as a sequel
Love Get Him To The Greek
No one talks about it and it’s such a dope movie
Choosing episode 2 in a trilogy is kinda cheating. The reason a lot of sequels are bad is because they’re cash grabs that weren’t really planned.
I’ll accept Toy Story 2 because 3 is basically 2 again even though I love both movies, and TS2 came out quite a bit after the original. But like The Two Towers doesn’t count because they had the whole s*** planned from the beginning.
Harold and Kumar go to Guantanamo Bay is my answer. White Castle might’ve been a better movie plot wise but Guantamo Bay is filled with great jokes.
Damn looks like I need to give raid 2 another chance . Even though its story is drawn out

Exactly
Like saying Chamber of Secrets....
That’s not a sequel.... none of the Star Wars movies can be considered a true sequel... same for LOTR....
Like you said... a sequel is something that wasn’t really planned when the first one came out

the whole scene with Harolds parents and the translator and fbi dudes

Empire and Jedi weren’t planned out after the first one.
George Lucas thought the original would bomb so bad, he and Spielberg made a bet that whoevers movie grossed higher, the other got a percentage of each other’s profits (Star Wars and Close Encounters)
Spielberg made $40 mil off the bet
