I just think if there’s over trillions of species supposedly in this universe then wouldn’t it make sense that there is some sort of space faring empire that takes control of every planet it comes across in the cosmos? I know this sounds like some crazy Joe Rogan s*** but I seriously ponder that.

I think you're underestimating the size of the universe and overestimating the amount of intelligent species that would hypothetically exist, let alone highly intelligent species capable of intergalactic travel. Even more the idea that they'd be interested in conquering a species they've already far surpassed and probably can't offer them anything of value. I mean it could happen but if it would that'd mean mean they're probably bored af.
