Always surprises me how little parents are involved in setting up technology for their kids. I would almost say that asking for id is just the bare minimum they could do.

They should be doing something along the lines of requiring isp's or router manufacturers to include a family friendly dns that parents can opt into. Rather than having to do the research and pay to find one that fits their needs.
