yeah i got the same vibe too. this season has been too abstract and kinda meanders.

    It insists upon itself

So the issue with this season is that there arent enough episodes to do the type of episodes they did tbh. Shouldve been like a 13-15 ep season then there wouldve been space to do the character centered eps too now it destroys momentum

What other wisdom can you bestow upon us? The sun rises in the east, sets in the west?

The first one was fine, the second one totally derailed the show tbh

  • Ive felt less and less invested since episode 7 (which was excellent), but thats when the pacing issues seemed super apparent

I had been pretty satisfied with the season except these last 2-3 episodes

  • Mar 18, 2025

It feels to me that the ppl involved know where they want to get to at the end but weren't really able to get to that point elegantly in the 10 episode structure while keeping the pacing brisk. So maybe that's a reason to be optimistic about when they actually get to the season end point

I think the writer had a specific story to tell with a specific vision in season 1.

The writer and Apple ended up producing a hit show.

Now the writer has to deliver with a corporate financier interested in its continued success. The result is an overwrought story written by someone who might be in over their head.

This season had so many incomplete subplots that made the show seem meandering:

Miss Huang? The lady helping Mark? Mark’s brother in law writing for Lumon? The painting Milchick received? The department with goats and feral people? The lady from GoT? Dylan and his wife? Gemma’s dentist? Mark and Helly’s relationship? Helena posing as Helly?Irving’s obsession with the dark floor?

I could probably keep going. And some of these are nitpicks.

It’s not that these ideas are wrong for existing. Their inclusion and sequence is the problem for me. The last time Miss Huang played any meaningful part in the story was like 4 episodes ago.

Compare this season to this season’s White Lotus and you can see the difference in focus.

    many such cases tbh

What drew me into the show was the mystery and absurdity of it all. I think it’s good we’re getting more background into how deep this kier s*** is but it feels like we haven’t learned anything new fr

It was for the first 7 episodes, had some hiccups towards the end but the finale more than makes up for it.

With how much this season has constantly swung for the fences, it was never gonna be flawless.
