Drake used Akademiks, podcasts, IG, AI PAC , AI Snoop, A music video and twitter bots and he just lost handedly lol.

im not saying idk if big names would have helped w mr morale. like objectively i guess i don't know bc it didn't happen, so it's technically just conjecture. but yeah big features would probably have helped the sales. which is what i said right? am i tripping?

also the "FATD sales were carried by the features" angle is weak and u know it lol. drake is the most streamed rapper alive obviously an album from him w a good rollout will do big numbers.

for the last part of ur post, the answer is simple. Drake is obviously still a massive artist and celebrity, and still very talked about, but in recent years the trend has been to hate on drake. of course drake himself cant cash in on that negative attention as well as kendrick can.

I don’t care if you think the “FATD sales were carried by features” angle is weak. It’s objectively true. The streams from those songs did numbers for the album. You can’t admit it’s weird that the biggest songs from the album all had notable features? Like it’s just a coincidence? Bro cmon

Is Drake the biggest guy and his name moves units or does everyone hate him so he can’t?

Regardless of how many people hate him he’s still a huge artist, Why wasn’t one of his disses a hit? Where are his solo hits?

Reminder that the songs off For All the Dogs are the highest-charting songs career-wise for J. Cole, Yeat and Sexyy Red. SZA got her first #1 debut off a song on that album as well. But they'll tell you those names are the reason why the album did well and not Drake

Now, all of a sudden, Drake isn't the one driving the numbers on his own albums like he doesn't have 15 projects to his name to prove this :jordanlaff3:

Ask them why NONE of the songs off Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers performed half as well as the diss tracks aimed at Drake did. Ask them why The Hillbillies flopped. Ask them why the only Kendrick songs since 2018 to do any sort of damage on the charts have all and only been the songs where he's dissing Drake lmao.

I think it won't be as clean cut as Nas and Jay. Jay cried the first time he heard Ether and his mom made him apologize to Nas. That was a definitive win for Nas. Neither Drake or Kendrick really lifted themselves up but more so tried to tear each other down and just ended up hurting both their images. I think songs like 6:16, Taylor Made, MTG won't age well but Push Ups, Euphoria, Family Matters will be timeless. I want to say Not Like Us will be remembered well but Mustard's production is dated already. And Ether is taught in college courses, NLU will not get the same treatment

They'll call you delusional right now but the only way that gets proven right is when Kendrick drops his next album/single(s). I'm glad Not Like Us is doing as well as it's doing for 2 reasons. First off, I always love hip-hop having some representation on the charts. Secondly, it's breaking all sorts of streaming records that no other Kendrick song has come close to breaking but what happens if and when his next single, that's not a diss aimed at Drake, doesn't perform half as well? What'll be their excuse then? What happens if his next album doesn't put up monster numbers? What'll be their excuse then?

What they don't realize is that historically, Drake has never needed beef for clout. He beat Meek with Back to Back and the same week that song went on DSPs is the same week Hotline Bling went on DSPs. Less than 2 months later, he dropped WATTBA. 7 months after that, he dropped Views. Push beat him and he dropped Scorpion and kept it moving. He's always understood that rap beefs are blips in time. The real game is releasing career music and that's a game he'll ALWAYS win.

I'm excited for Kendrick's next album (Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is the only album of his that I don't care for) but his stans have exposed themselves with this beef because they've made it clear that they're just as obsessed with numbers/stats as any other fanbase so it'll be interesting to see what angle they play if/when his next single/album doesn't put up numbers that mirror the massive streaming numbers he put up during this beef or worse, if Not Like Us ends up becoming his biggest hit ever.

ok first question. i gotta say i don't know. it's totally possible kendrick still has it in him to make another humble type track. like maybe he could have turned morale into a major success w different features and more palatable songs. but he didn't go for that so idk. and his only major success since then has come from this beef, so it's not like he's proven he still has that solo hitmaker ability.

second question. honestly, yes. I think drake is a very big name, and i think he's undoubtedly much larger than SZA, Yeat, or Cole. not to mention i only rly saw ppl complaining abt yeat and sza verses, so it would've been cole singlehandedly blessing the album w an extra 100k first week if ur theory was true. and that seems like a reach idk.

This is crazy cope man. Not Like Us will be remembered because Kendrick had the entire country calling Drake a pedo on the number 1 song in the country and MTG will being remembered for not only being a scathing diss song addressing Drake’s whole family but for also dropping 20 minutes after FM.
