It’s cuz the 2017 rappers are somehow still stuck in 2017. People have moved on and they entirely forgot that they’re about to become legacy acts

i feel like asap rocky has a bigger following because of the mob and awge and just rocky being that dude when he came out and always being cool. a lot of these rappers that dropped from 17-19 have some sort of arrested development because of covid and you can argue meg, dababy, and roddy got their careers massively stunted bc of covid
