It’s not about ability imo.His skill is still there he just don’t choose to use it right. Wayne is the same way and nobody would say he lost his ability to make good music
Mtbmb was okay..but with every album comes a possibility of another album on the level of revival which nobody needs
Eminem hate has always been corny imho. I totally get where a lot of it is coming from, but I cannot bring myself to hate the man. Hoping he shuts y'all up with this album, lol.

What album?
For me he's gotta mix the strengths of Revival and MTBMB without falling into the pitfalls of each of them.
I know what you're thinking...
Revival has strengths!?!?!?
But yeah, it does. On paper it sounds like an amazing album. Em finally opening up about all of the crazy s*** he's done in his life and touching on them from a more mature perspective sounds f***ing awesome. Topics like his fear of an unstable legacy, apologizing to Kim, accidentally bringing attention to his daughters that they didn't want, etc. sound amazing and I've been waiting for him to look at them in a more mature light.
So Revival's strength is its concept. And just in case I have to say it, its failings lie in the godawful production and corny subpar (by Em standards) rapping.
MTBMB has probably Em's best beats since Relapse, and his rapping is back on point with tight flows, clever wordplay, and less corny bars. The only problem is that for like 80% of that record he isn't talking about f***ing anything. It's a fun listen, but there's not much substance.
Basically, my dream for this album is Revival's themes with MTBMB beats and execution.
He's working with Dre again, Kendrick might be on this, he has his quasi protégées like Cordae and Jack Harlow turning up the heat and applying the pressure we know he succeeds under, I'm optimistic.
What album?
Nothing is confirmed yet, but a lot of people think he's gonna drop an album soon after the Superbowl performance. Check out OP of this thread.
he could drop his best work on this next one and the internet would still s*** on it

As i'm reading this, it sounds like you want Eminem to make another album like....Recovery, lol
I'm not mad at it though, I love the Recovery album. It's one of my favorite Em albums.
Eminem is finally finding his footing again with his last couple albums (Kamikaze & MTBMB part 1 and 2). I think his next album is gonna be dope as well.

which is a shame because I think he’s been on an upward trajectory post revival

Recovery is a good album imho. Going Through Changes is one of his best ever.
That being said, it definitely isn't top tier Em for me. For me it's something like
S Tier - Relapse
A Tier - TES, MMLP, SSLP
B Tier - Recovery, MMLP2, Encore
C Tier - Side B, MTBMB, Kamikaze
Meme Tier - Revival

MTBMB side A is better than recovery and encore 100000%

Idk, I find myself regularly bumping less songs from Side A than songs from Recovery.
And Encore has a special place in my heart because I was obsessed with it in my awful awkward middle school phase, the weird vibe the joke songs had of misery and pain just under the surface just spoke to me at the time. In fact maybe I shoulda put Encore higher, lol.

See what i never got about encore is how he put s*** like yellow brick road and lime toy soldiers on the same album as fack and big weenie 😭
Have Kanye and Eminem even been in the same room together?
Can’t think of a picture of them

nah
he was invited to link up on the ranch in early 2020 along w Griselda
em declined either cuz of covid or because he didn't want to go

Right? LTS is a top 5 Em song, no discussion, and even though they put me in a weird mood that is certainly engaging, I wouldn't call the joke songs "good" by any means. Most artists have peaks and valleys in their careers, but they usually aren't on the same album, lol
