I haven’t watched the movie so I might be wrong but I don’t see the Barbie movie as a pro feminist movie since it has a story arc of Ken realizing he was just an accessory to Barbie, a woman, and he realizes he’s more than that. He becomes his own person. That’s more uplifting to men than women the way I see it

That’s exactly what happens . Basically Ken goes to the real world and discovers what “masculinity” is. But really all he does is learn about the most surface level and stereotypical aspects of masculinity and makes them his whole personality, and he teaches the other Ken’s about those toxic traits.

But by the end of the film, Ken learns how to express himself in a healthy way. And the Barbie and Ken’s live forever in equality

The movie is implying that it’s ok to embrace masculinity, as long as you do it in healthy ways, and also view women as your equals.

And Barbie gets her own arc as well of course

It’s a pretty straightforward story about knowing your self worth

    O brother

A lot of dudes went to see this with their girl, me included.
And the movie does indeed speak on some real topics. I’m not saying it’s a “deep” film, but Greta Gerwig makes an effort to make this more than a “little girl ad”

She shoulda tried to make it more entertaining, even will Ferrell was boring af and his side roles are usually his best

Michael cera and the big Ken song were the only funny parts

    Yeah, because I like films
I really do not give a f*** what a film is about
I’m just tryna see something good
Pretty much any topic can be turned into something interesting
