F***ing insane man

ignoring the first half of the quote for this narrative is crazy

They got it twisted as f*** but whatever they’ll probably grow out of that cringe ass mentality at some point
Shakira, Shakira ..
dont know why we expect such insightful commentary from people who literally just sing songs for a living
You didn’t say anything wrong bro people are just looking for something to complain about when it doesn’t exist.
Ironic, cause this whole thread is about someone complaining
ignoring the first half of the quote for this narrative is crazy
I found Barbie entertaining and the entire Ken spin funny, but she has a point, if the shoe was on the other foot and they portrayed all the women in that film the way Ken is portrayed we all know it would be a very different narrative. I’m all for clowning insecure men that take It far too seriously but what Shakira said is reasonable…
Ngl she been acting real corny ever since her split w Pique. Haven’t seen Barbie tho so don’t know how trash it really is
Just proves that the movie is all about the perspective you're looking it at. I thought it was a great way to explain how to the two extreme ends perceive the world around them.
Seeing it as somehow emasculating is just insecure to me tbh.
Nothing too outlandish about this statement lol American culture is crazy these days ngl

“other way around” arguments don’t work when there’s an inherent power imbalance between the two groups
this is such a 2020-era discussion topic lol

They try to do this move in Ghostbusters Answer the Call and the Scream reboot. They objectify Chris Hemsworth as a secretary and treat him like an idiot. Ghostbusters didn't do that? Scream reboot tries to correct all of these gender dynamics and Wes Craven was never a culprit of weak women characters after like his first movie. They're really apologizing for the Weinstein rape stuff.
You guys don’t get to make “We need Ja Rule’s take on this 😏” posts anymore if you’re for real arguing over Shakira’s sons opinion on Barbie. These are privileges and you will lose them by engaging in horseplay!!!
Wouldn’t say that’s loser or going out sad. She doesn’t have the right to feel that way as a parent and a woman?
I think for a male to enjoy Barbie they'd have to be mature enough to understand the tongue in cheek tone of Ken's character and also have a reference for the pop-feminist angle of America Ferrara's character. Most of the people I talked to, even women, thought the America Ferrara monologue was OD and took them out of the movie a little bit, but still overall enjoyed it. I just dont think this is a movie for little boys.
I’ve heard many things about it.
I’ve heard it was pro feminist, I’ve heard it was pro male, I haven’t seen it yet but I feel most people don’t actually know what it’s meant to be.
Somehow a Barbie movie became one of the most misinterpreted and divisive movies this decade

Right actually why the hell she put it on for them lol I guess they must’ve just asked to see it with all the marketing
First mistake is letting your boys watch Barbie of all things. But a lot do movies are definitely trying to push an agenda.
