You can get shot up literally anywhere in US lmfao

That’s genuinely my perception as somebody who’s from Canada, no offence. Like I genuinely could be wrong - but that’s what I believe off the media.

I fear if go down there, I’ll just be wrongfully detained or shot up for no reason.

I feel so bad for you Americans with this s***.

The crazy conservative Christians there have made easy access to guns feel regular but I can safely say to you guys in behalf of the vast majority of other countries that this is not normal in a decent society.

F*** the idiots that complain about taking the guns, they did that here in Australia decades ago and the same scaremongers here said the same thing that they do in America.

And guess what! It all worked out and those “pry it out of my dead hands” people quickly lost their nerve when put on the spot by the government.

And I hear Yanks usually try to respond with “guns aren’t the problem, people are” and “the UK have a stabbing epidemic in London, why don’t they take all the knifes?” But this is a clear example of why, because it’s all but impossible to kill 9 people, injure 60 and take your own life with ease in the matter of an hour with a knife.

This is America. If Sandy Hook couldn’t bring change then nothing will.

this was the deal breaker for me. when that happened and barely anything changed, it was writing on the wall that nothing will be done in the slightest, if elementary kids getting killed won’t do a thing, it’s gonna stick.

The funny thing is, if this was the case, majority of these shootings probably don't happen.

But alas, available solutions that no one wants to utilize because they too greedy.

crazy how all them issues linked

and that's why nothing will get done about it.

The solution is literally right there at our footstep but too many people are too p****, too greedy, and too selfish to say it.

Hear me out. Imagine like 50 years from now, people with serious mental health issues can easily get their hands on advanced weaponry of the 2070’s and average mass shootings have victims of 50-100 people

If 1 out of every 100 people has serious mental health issues that turn violent, the entire world will be wiped out eventually

We need to abolish prisons, put everyone into mental health care if they commit any crime. We must fix poverty too. Tax the rich and make them fix it, enough of the 5 yachts and mansions bullshit, force these rich people to help out.

Guns aren't the problem. They're a tool like anything else and have legit use cases. If you live in a rural area and someone breaks into your home, are you gonna call 911 and wait 30 minutes in your bathroom for the cops to arrive?

You can see other European nations with legalized gun ownership. The amount of mass murders and homocides do not scale accordingly. It's 100% a cultural and mental health crisis. A growing income inequality + mainstream media that pits lower class americans against each other + inadequate healthcare and safety nets = a society that's imploding.

The idea of taking away someone's right to autonomy and free choice (by way of revoking the 2nd amendment) would not be an appropriate measure. Its a bandaid solution at best and the first steps to authoritarianism at worse.

Guns may not be the problem, but stricter regulations on gun ownership are a must.

We can't say for sure that guns are not the problem when it is so easy to attain one, when countries with stricter gun ownership laws/practices are not having this issue.

Even Europe, that you mentioned, tends to have more regulation than we do.
