Over the past 2 years I have seen toddlers flattened by rubble, a child’s brain falling out of the half of his skull that remained, the walking silhouette of a child burned alive, children’s’ limbs turned to ribbons by explosives, a father carrying parts of his kid in a plastic grocery bag, child amputees, families wiped out, starvation, etc.

All good. I am black for real (Ethiopian dad, Eritrean mom, not adopted) but I understand why you would think I’m white. If you think I’m white then you may just have a stereotypical view of what a black man is supposed to be like or think like. I’ve been called the N-word and racial slurs in school growing up and all that jazz too. Even just a few days ago by some kids who passed by me in a car which is crazy cus I’m very light skinned and they still hit me with the slur at that speed In some ways I’m stereotypical and in other ways I’m not.
