Even in the literal sense I feel like drake’s “if you’re a woman you need to stay at home all the time” songs are gross, it’s a stupid idea to me and I can’t relate to it at all. Can’t ever imagine telling a woman that she needs to stay at home to be a good girl

what happened between mavi and fantano? i think i remember reading something about that on twitter, but not entirely sure. just earl and mike clowning fantano on twitter early in 2020

I would maybe see the song that way if he hadn’t already had a similar narrative in songs like Hotline Bling. I’m not some sjw but the way he talks about women in songs is just iffy to me a lot of the time. Don’t get me started on his constant use of the word “potential”

Something about Fantano ripping on lyrics from either Navy Blue or Mike because he was very clearly too white to understand a black perspective, and when he got corrected for it he threw a temper tantrum and started getting mad at Mavi because he wouldn't follow him back even though he was a fan, Mavi essentially called him a weirdo and entitled, Fantano then tweeted some real weirdo s*** and the rest of slums got on him and made him delete his tweet.

I said this in some other Fantano thread, but I wish there were other music reviewers as big as he is. I think he gets a lot of flack because his fanbase is huge so he's seen as an authority, when really its just some random white dudes opinion. If there were 2-3 people with the sub count he does, his scores wouldn't matter (not that they do anyway but reviews are like Grammy noms. Everybody thinks they mean something)
