    but wasn't commercialized or developed as one. rock became a white genre. but I guess anything that becomes super popular and commercialized gets whitewashed

And honeslty we already help other genres but who gives af where the top genre so you shouldn’t be surprised at the charts. Even if it’s not a hip hop record at the top it has hip hop influence in it most likely
