I've been debating taking a year out before starting college for the past few months.

On one hand I think it'd be really worthwhile to start working a job and save up to do some travelling. But I might also just end up sad and lonely ngl. I've had the same group of 3 friends for ages. I'm pretty fed up with them and I feel like I'll regret not branching out by going to college.

    Any advice appreciated

During these times, I don’t see why not take a year off

  • Aug 26, 2020

also, unless your friends are taking the same classes as you or you're super hellbent on hanging out all the time you'll probably won't even see them that often

    Just get it over with

Pretty fair, cos there'll probably only be like 2 in person classes per week

Yeah it's not long term. I'm more focused on getting money to travel with/saving.

just go straight to college. you can do all of that while being in school as long as you plan things out.

Taking a year off and working a full time will give you full perspective of what to expect as an adult. Whatever you decide to do, do not go to school if you’re going to half ass it. You’ll dig a hole that you’ll have to climb out of in the future if you decide to go back

Yeah part of my problem is idk if I'm mature enough to take my course seriously.

I went to CC right out of high school because I thought that was what I was supposed to do. I ended up on academic probation and a few years later when I went back I had to make sure every grade I earned was high just to pull my GPA back up. Don’t feel pressured to do what the system tries to force on you

Thanks. I think I'll probably take a year out, working a job would probably help me to be more disciplined and most ppl regret not taking one.
