This is f***ing deep. He's portraying the structure of capitalistic greed through a medium that fuels it posthastely like Instagram which is why he used a filter. He's demonstrating how we'll always sell ourselves just to get what we see on designer shelves. We're willing to put our entire lives on display for monetary gain, may it be financially, morally, of simply for attention from our peers. This post modernism approach to capitalism is so interesting, because if you look at the entire rack of clothing, it resembles him being simply another cog in the machine. It resembles an assembly line, working in and out, ignoring family and friends just to be able to afford a piece of the designer giants have to offer because it's a status symbol of success to a young black male who comes from where he comes from. His head is down due to the depression and mental anguish that capitalism breeds. He looks so defeated. Also, it's a metaphor for how designer clothing has the African American community by the balls (or the neck). He's hanging himself, all for a piece of designer clothing. He's even given up, hands down, and body limping, and ready to let go but he's stuck in the vicious cycle that they've infected us with. They just won't let go of us, man. God, this man is a genius.
