No everyone should not always tip. Only people who can afford it should tip and if someone who is poor is even frequenting your business you should be happy whether they tip anything or not.

Unless you’re poor then you won’t understand.

I mean going to the grocery store and doing it yourself is cheaper than ordering delivery. So if they can’t afford to tip maybe they should just take the cheaper option and make their own food.

if <$10 actually makes a difference for you you can’t afford to eat out/get delivery in the first place

    that's bullshit fam

it's not your responsibility to subsidize an employee's low wages. If you can afford to tip then do it, but America hides behind tipping culture to avoid giving people a fair wage and that's not right.

and before you say "man if you broke just say that" I just think it is a weird practice business wise to impose an additional fee to a customer just because they're getting something from one of your workers. If you went to a doctor's office, and the person drawing your blood asked for a tip afterwards you would look at them crazy

The person drawing your blood is a full fledged employee with benefits and set hourly pay rate.

Gig workers are independent contractors that do not get benefits, and they also absorb any cost it takes to keep their business running. Like fixing your own car.

The only way it would make sense for a gig company’s bottom line to pay contractors fairly would mean imposing even more fees onto you. So you’d have to pay either way, whether it’s through tips or through more fees.

Keep believing in your rhetoric though, and you will get what you pay for.

Don’t expect 5 star service while only leaving a one star tip or no tip at all.

Good shoppers and drivers are not working for free, and a lot of the good ones have quit to find other jobs since people decided to try and take advantage of them.

Gig workers depend on tips, the same way waiters and barbers do. So if you don’t want to be fair towards people depending on tips, then do it yourself period.

Don’t even bring up foreign places like the UK cause they impose a 15% service fee in top of everything else in lieu of a tip that goes directly to the worker. So again you will be paying either way. I believe we should impose guaranteed service fees and due away with the tip since people like you want to complain so much. Get ready to pay a 15% tip on everything instead of having the choice to be a decent person.

Id rather pay the 15% seeing the minimum on these tablets at restaurants have been 18% for some time now

I tip the delivery driver, the one time every 6 months I order food. I click “no tip” on the chip reader at the Chipotle and look the cashier in the eye as I do it tho.

Idk why niggas flex about not tipping the person behind the register, we literally don't care lmao

If anything, it's fairly awkward whenever the tip screen comes up bc I'm trying to get back to work ASAP
